A group of young people with various psychological and character problems is taken by two guardians to a summer camp. In the same area, drug traffickers are testing new chemical feeds to increase their plantations, with the result of giving life to enormous mutant ticks that attack anyone who comes their way. Another horror produced by Yuzna that, turning a blind eye to the screenplay and plot (not very original and sometimes implausible), is appreciated in more than one sequence. Horrifying mutations (especially the metamorphosis of a boy into a huge tick) and blood in massive doses are the most appreciable qualities of the film. For lovers of the genre... those who love "author" horror should look elsewhere.

Typical fare, well made It's lovely to watch movies from the early nineties where the handicraft of practical effects is still very much in vogue. The movie does grow substantially with its practical effects and its amazing cast. The one thing that bothers me about this movie is how uneven the sound is, where dialogue can be muffled and low, and the moment you turn up the sound there is a loud screeching scream and your speakers blow out. It is a fun movie for what it is, and I highly enjoyed it.
